EXPO RIVA SCHUH & GARDABAGS: WINTER EDITION BROUGHT FORWARD TO DECEMBER 2020

EXPO RIVA SCHUH & GARDABAGS: WINTER EDITION BROUGHT FORWARD TO DECEMBER 2020

Having carried out a careful evaluation of the various options and in consultation with all those involved, from exhibitors and visitors to national and international stakeholders, Riva del Garda Fierecongressi has established the new dates for the next edition of Expo Riva Schuh and Gardabags: the events will take place from December 11th to 14th 2020.

In a constantly evolving context, such as that in which we operate, exceptional decisions sometimes need to be taken: our new choice of dates for Expo Riva Schuh and Gardabags aims to safeguard the target markets of these two events. Over the past two months, we have maintained a constant flow of dialogue with exhibiting companies and buyers, both via an on-line survey and direct discussions with Representative Institutions and International Agencies. As a result of this careful analysis and opinion-seeking, what has emerged is a common desire not to accept the moment passively, but to react, aiming to turn the crisis into an opportunity,” states the Chairman of Riva del Garda Fierecongressi, Roberto Pellegrini.

The decision to re-formulate the exhibitions calendar, by bringing the January edition forward to December, is not only the result of this unusual period, but also demonstrates a positive impulse for the companies in this sector towards a return to commercial exchange at international level.

It is an important strategic choice because it will facilitate there-activation of the supply chain for a specific market segment and will encourage a revival both from a business and an informative point of view. Expo Riva Schuh, and, more recently, Gardabags, are two key events for their respective sectors, aiming to enhance meetings and dialogue between the various links in the chain, enabling them to compare notes on the demands and desires of the market.

“We are talking about a fundamental interaction to relaunch the supply chain. Furthermore, the time frame, which is unique in the volume footwear and accessory sector, will make it possible to present the Autumn/Winter 2022 collections well in advance,” maintains the Chairman of Riva Del Garda Fierecongressi, Roberto Pellegrini.

The new dates will be presented via UPDATE, an online communication, presented by Roberto Pellegrini, Chairman of Riva del Garda Fierecongressi, and the Managing Director of the Exhibitions Business, Alessandra Albarelli: the video message will provide a summary of the initiatives that will lead towards the December edition along with the related communication activities.

The94th edition of Expo Riva Schuh and the 5thedition of Gardabags will, of course, be held with all due respect for prevailing laws governing the health of all those involved.

In accordance with safety protocols established by the authorities concerned, strict sanitisation procedures for all areas are planned together with the use of PPE. The number of people entering will be managed right down to individual stands via registration or matching systems, whereas the event opening times will be extended. Inside the halls of the exhibition centre there will be new layouts and a complete re-design which will make social distancing possible.

Between the months of July and November 2020, to enhance the communication activities related to the winter edition, a calendar of virtual events is planned, designed to respond to various demands and target groups.

“In order to keep the relationship alive between all our various community members during the months that keep us apart until the next edition of Expo Riva Schuh and Gardabags, we have planned a whole series of webinars dedicated to this sector. It will provide a means of closing the gap, enabling us to further enforce the tight network of international relationships that have always formed the strategic advantage of the event and will provide operators with a tool for monitoring and interpreting market trends,” states the Managing Director of Riva del Garda Fierecongressi, Alessandra Albarelli.

The first webinar – After the Covid storm: from difficulties to relaunch – how the world footwear market is currently behaving and how will it behave? –is scheduled for July 22nd, and will provide the opportunity to draw a complete picture of the footwear sector, analysing data and trends at international level.

The second webinar, on the other hand, will be directed towards the world of retail – Redefining retail culture scheduled for September 29th.

On November 10th, the series will conclude, with the webinar 2022 industry big ideas which will take a look at an analysis of the major fashion trends.

The 94th edition of Expo Riva Schuh and the 5th edition of Gardabags look forward to welcoming you at the Riva del Garda Exhibition Centre from December 11th to 14th 2020.
